Steps

1. Read Application Information before starting
2. Ready to use.  Do not dilute.  Wet surface lightly with garden hose.
3. Apply product generously using brush, roller or larger vented garden sprayer.  Allow solution to stand 5-10 minutes without drying.
4. Work into the surface using a stiff bristle brush.  Scrub a small section first to determine if area is cleaned.
5. For best results, rinse thoroughly using a pressure washer.
6. For stubborn stains, repeat application.

This product is used to seal roof joints (seams) and tears, copings; flashings, skylights; gutters, etc. Perfect for repairing and restoring roofs of residential and commercial buildings, mobile homes & RVs.

Bonds to a wide range of surfaces including difficult roof materials such as: EPDM, TPO, most PVC, SBS, APP, BURs, metal roofs, tiles, shingle, aluminum, galvanized steel, wood, propylene, polystyrene, fiberglass, brick, concrete, masonry, OSB, etc.

Paintable Seam Tape is used as part of the waterproof system with Liquid Rubber Coatings.

EPDM Primer is a rubber polymer water based roofing primer, and like its name; its been specifically designed for EPDM surfaces. EPDM Rubber is extremely hard to stick to without a quality Primer. This Primer does not react with atmospheric moisture allowing it to be opened and resealed for use at a later date. 

Basic Use

Primer is used to prime EPDM roofing membranes to provide improved adhesion for the Liquid Rubber RV Roof Coating and other Liquid Rubber Coatings.

Surface Preparation

All work surfaces should be clean, dry; free of dirt, dust; debris, oils; un-adhered coatings, deteriorated membranes and other contaminants that may result in a surface that is uneven or not sound. Clean the surface with Liquid RV Smart Cleaner and wipe down with acetone prior to the application of the Primer.  Primer is extremely sticky, it is best to apply on half the surface leaving a work area to stand on.  Apply Primer then top coating (ie. RV Roof coating) and then repeat on the other half where you can stand on the completed side.

Limitations

• Do not use as a membrane cleaner.
• Talc, dust; oil, ice; snow or wet conditions inhibit good adhesion. Clean and dry surfaces are a necessity.
• Not to be used on TPO and PVC roof membranes.
• Install above 10C (50F) and rising
• Do not apply later in the day if Rain or Dew is forecast

Store material in original unopened containers at temperatures between 40°F - 90°F (4°C - 32°C). Shelf life is 12 months when stored in unopened container.

When it comes to our RV Roof Coating, some of that happiness comes from helping you avoid those costly repairs that normally accompany any recreational vehicle.

This environmentally friendly coating keeps your RV from falling victim to the perils of leaks, and DIY application means virtually

• Apply a minimum final thickness of 1 gallon per 50 sq ft (4.65 sq/m). It should require around 2-3 heavy coats to achieve your final membrane.
• 1 x 5 gallon pail of RV Roof Coating will coat RV's up to 30 feet. Be sure to use up all material.

Tips

• Apply using a 3/8 (10mm) roller, brush or paint sprayer.
• Apply to a clean, dry surface that is free of dirt, silicone, loose paint, rust, oil, grease, coal tar, or other contaminants.
• Use Liquid Rubber Caulking for gaps, joints and around penetrations.
• Apply when temperature is above 10C/50F and rising.
• Use Liquid Rubber RV Smart Cleaner to clean the surface.
• Use Liquid Rubber EPDM Primer for EPDM roofs and Liquid Rubber Multi-Purpose for most others. (We do not have a primer for TPO roofs at this time.)
• Apply each new coat in an alternate direction to the previous coat to ensure even thickness.
• Apply next coat when dry to the touch (typically 6-8 hours, tacky is OK).
• Typically cures in 48 hours.
• Avoid hot, direct, intense sun when applying.
• Avoid contact with solvents and solvent based cleaners, adhesives and paints.
• Do not allow to freeze until fully cured.
• Do not combine black products with the colored products.
• Do not apply in wet conditions (including fog and dew) or if rain is forecasted within 24 hours.
• EPDM is a rubber sheet coating.
• TPO and PVC are a plastic type sheet membrane. (we do not currently carry a primer for TPO)
• Generally you can apply 1-2 coats per day
• Apply material until you use up the required amount
• Curing time depends on temperature, humidity and airflow
• Remove painters tape as soon as possible (while coating is still wet).
• If corrosion is present use a water-based rust primer.
• Method: Work in manageable sections. Apply the Liquid
  Rubber EPDM Primer to one side of the RV (leaving the other
  side uncoated so that you can walk and work on it. ) Allow
  the Liquid Rubber EPDM Primer to dry for 1-2 hours. Apply
  the Liquid Rubber RV Roof Coating over the Liquid Rubber
  EPDM Primer, leaving 4-6 inches of the primer exposed so that
  you will be able to overlap it when you begin the second side.
  Allow the Liquid Rubber RV Roof Coating to dry enough to
  walk on, and repeat the process for the second side.
• Make sure what you’re coating is at least 5 degrees above the dew point of the environment you are coating in. (See technical specs for more details)
• For best results remove existing paints/coatings and apply directly to the substrate. (Some paints and coatings will not be compatible. Loose/flaky paint may be an indication that the existing paint/coating is not well bonded and therefore your Liquid Rubber solution may fail if applied over it instead of directly to the substrate. Oil based paints, enamels, epoxies, powder coats can be difficult to bond to. Contact your Liquid Rubber technical representative for further direction.)
• If your RV is still under warranty be sure to contact the manufacturer to ensure you do not void the warranty.
• It is always a good idea to apply a small test patch in an inconspicuous area to ensure adequate adhesion prior to full application.
